how upgrade liferay 6.1.10 liferay 6.1.20 in production environment? haven't done before, might need help/guide. understood searches, need download 6.1.20 bundle, point database in portal-ext.properties , start liferay. correct process? thanks.
in theory (assuming there no custom code - bare liferay) this:
- perform backup
- stop portal
- unzip next liferay 6.1.1
- copy (replacing) files settings (portal-ext.properties, portal-wizard-setup.properties , others - if were), important follow would: сonnection settings copied database - is, portal use same database previous; portal-setup-wizard.properties correct liferay.home - shown on new directory (or, run new version of liferay)
- copied old portal folder "data" , place in new.
that is, new portal looks old database , used old data. further launching new version liferay.
at start of liferay has cut base old , perform update (automatically). after that, put additional portlets before.
this theory - practically there deviations (for backup , done - rever back)
